The only cost is $0.05 per page. Well, perhaps not really, but someone has to make a payment for the lights to run, the escalator to take me to the second floor, and for the water to flush the urine down the toilet. The restroom was the first thing I used upon arriving, knowing it’d be a long visit and to be sure to empty my tank before filling it with the lush environment of books, all filling the air with it’s wood glue smell. Like a forest, but instead with processed trees, I’m still loving the sensation of being in an imaginary wilderness. After-all, isn’t this what these books offer? I stopped by the “addiction” section to get a fix before running over to the fitness area where sculpted bodies lie on front covers. Maybe I don’t want to work thaaaat hard? Hahaha.

I “tried” to find capoeira books but wasn’t able to locate the pretty receptionist whom I perceive… Oh god, she’s right in front of me! And there is a dance section! Aweeesome!

A rainy Chinese New Year back in Fresno

“Black,” our dog named in Chinese after the dark colored coat he wears, rushes out to me in excitement, noticing there is an audience for his attention. The usual sniff of my back with a cautious approach is taken, taking notice of my hands, where my eyes are, and my buttocks as I walk past to the back of our house where the persimmons lie. With the persimmons season completely over, the tree like mostly blank, with some eaten fruit hanging from it’s branches. Probably the work of the local birds peking away at the sweet fruit, breaking into the skin to expose the juicy treasures within, full of spiced fall and winter flavors. I too look forward to indulging myself with what is left of the fruit, knowing it would be a great mix with my tart non-fat yogurt mixed with a crunchy verity of nuts. This I know because I’ve experienced combining the three before.
The skies a grey with clouds looming over, waiting calmly bearing heavy loads of rain to come. I search the scattered trees amongst the damp compacted grounds, cruised over constantly by trucks and tractors with tire trail marks leading to the furthest parts of the farm. I reach out to feel the last fruits hanging from naked branches, checking their firmness with the pressure from the grasp of my hands. A little squeeze tells me if the insides have gone soft and whether or not the persimmon would last the ride back to orange county. Though few, the orange color of the persimmons stand out in contrast to the dark background of rain clouds, making them easier to see. I’ve seen some, most have past their time as delectable deserts or a breakfast meal, but even the few are not up to par – often time wrinkled from too much weathering and a stop of nutrient flow from the roots of the trees.

The questions are right there in front of your eyes and it’s because we’re not looking for the answers that they look so disguised. I’m finding it hard to believe you understand, but to be me is to be all I’ve ever wanted to be, a man. Clashing blades, the story of my life, sharp minds think alike. Breaking backs with heavy ideas, what’s wrong from right? The question was why I didn’t see you that night, however, I’ll discuss that with the next one when the time is right. Nothing more to fight for, fight for blood, bleed later tonight.

The taste of failure must be absorbed quickly, to be enjoyed as bittersweet because after-all, you will be already defeated if fear stops you in your place. I must continue on and walk genuinely through the courses of life that are being run at this time.

Ahh I do remember so surely the memories of my freshmen year, so young, so naive, so innocent, so much to experience, so much love, so much stories, so many friendships, so many hearts that collided, now ruins and scarred, scared, afraid, taught fear, mustering up enough strength to learn that this is opportunity, learned in hindsight, that chance can become what we make it if focused and determined, how different is focused and determined from carefree and loving? from thought to touch to feel, we are mediums of actions leaving wakes of resolve, fortune tellers could never garner enough pay to tell me how this would come to be, see never so far forward through the darkness, let it be.

The life is getting sucked out of me, lost of passion for what I do at work has left me under stress and over worked. Friends contact me for emotional support and even with the personal connections, I still feel like falling. We’re all zombies, slowly deteriorating as we work the machine. Truthfully, I’ve lost my vision and site of what needs to be done for the company. A clear and concise vision with detailed steps to grow the company. I’ve been just a splat of ink without inspiration to work.

Forward, forward, always on my mind, forward, forward, resume parts of the past, never enough time, in the day, break light to work another hour, asking myself why my heart is becoming sour, where did I leave it? To tell the the truth, I wouldn’t know, but deep down inside, I know somethin’ aint right, So i’m left to decide, whats next, or do I already know, in-compassionate about the next step?
